The Agricultural University in Plovdiv opened a distance learning center

The center will train specialists in 63 agricultural disciplines.

The Day of the National Enlighteners was marked at the Agricultural University in Plovdiv with the opening of a Center for Distance Learning for students, built under the project "Introduction of Electronic Forms for Distance Learning" under the Operational Program "Human Resources Development", Contract BG051O001-4.3.04-32.

Modern technologies necessitate the creation of an alternative method of education that allows remote access to agricultural information, as noted by the Rector of the Agricultural University, Prof. DSc Dimitar Grekov, at the official opening held on 27.10.2014. This educational model is also expected to increase the number of students enrolling in agricultural specialties.

The project leader, Prof. Dr. Neli Bencheva, assured those present that educational materials and resources for 63 disciplines have been developed. Some of the most attractive bachelor's specialties that will be available for distance learning at the Agricultural University in Plovdiv are: "Agronomy (Field Crops)" and "Agricultural Economics", as well as the master's courses "State and Municipal Finance" and "Agribusiness". A pilot module for 4 economic subjects in the "Agribusiness" master's course is also forthcoming.
