From 15 to 31 October, applications will be accepted for pest control in perennial crops

As of 15 October, the State Fund „Agriculture“ will start accepting applications under the scheme „Aid for compensating the costs of agricultural producers related to the implementation of measures under the National Programme for the Control of Pests in Permanent Crops during the Winter Period”. The application period will continue until 31 October.

Applications will be accepted for the purchase of plant protection products and products for accelerating the processes of leaf decay in fruit species, strawberries and raspberries, which are applied in autumn during the period of mass leaf fall. The deadline for reporting the activities is 16 November, and the funds will be paid by 7 December.

The purpose of the aid is to limit losses from the spread of overwintering pests in permanent crops, such as pome and stone fruit species, as well as strawberries and raspberries.

The financial resource under the scheme for the current year amounts to BGN 4.7 million. Part of the funds were disbursed in the spring to support the purchase of plant protection products for permanent fruit crops, strawberries and raspberries during the winter season, which are applied in the period after the passing of frosts until bud swelling. At that time, 2,847 producers received over BGN 3.9 million.
