Compensations for farmers with frost-damaged agricultural crops in 2018

State aid is envisaged for farmers from certain regions in the country with frost-damaged agricultural crops in 2018.

An order of the Minister of Agriculture, Food and Forestry (MAFF) of 13.07.2018 states that agricultural producers with completely destroyed areas in the regions of Varna, Dobrich, Lovech, Silistra, Sliven and Shumen are entitled to state aid, in accordance with the conditions of Decision C (2015) 6493 of 17.09.2015 of the European Commission for the approval of State aid SA. 42510 (2015/N) for compensating the damages to agricultural crops caused by adverse climatic events that can be equated to a natural disaster. The affected crops that will be compensated are peaches, nectarines, apricots, plums, almonds and cherries.

The aid will be paid in the manner and amount determined by the Management Board of the State Fund „Agriculture”.
