Additional financial resources for combating soil pests in potatoes

The Management Board of the State Fund „Agriculture“ approved an additional financial resource of 631,000 leva for already submitted applications under the State Aid Scheme for compensating the costs of agricultural producers for the purchase of plant protection products for the control of soil pests in potatoes for 2018. In total, the funds under the scheme amount to 1,631,000 leva, including the 1 million leva granted by decision of the Management Board of 12 March. The aid is provided in the form of compensation of part of the costs incurred by agricultural producers for the purchase of plant protection products for the control of the soil pest. The activities are in implementation of the National Programme of measures for control of soil pests in potatoes from the family Wireworms (Elateridae).

The purpose of the aid is to limit the losses resulting from the spread of soil pests in potatoes on the territory of Bulgaria.

The deadline for concluding contracts and paying the aid is 22 June 2018.
