Farmers received nearly 1 million levs to combat the tomato leaf miner.

The total budget of the scheme for 2016 is 1 million leva. The funds compensate vegetable producers for the costs of purchasing plant protection products and substances against the tomato leaf miner.

The State Fund "Agriculture" paid out 996,436 leva to 184 farmers under the State Aid Scheme for compensating costs related to the implementation of measures under the National Control Program for the Tomato Leaf Miner - Tuta absoluta Meyrick (Lepidoptera). To receive financial support, applicants under the scheme had to submit reporting documents for the purchased and applied plant protection products and substances for controlling the tomato leaf miner. The amount of aid per applicant for this year was determined after administering the eligible area for support.
