At its meeting, the Management Board of the State Fund "Agriculture" approved an additional financial resource of BGN 1 million for the autumn stage of the State Aid Scheme for compensating the costs of farmers related to the implementation of measures under the National Programme for Pest Control in Permanent Crops during the winter period.
The State Fund Agriculture is providing BGN 1 million for the autumn stage of pest control in permanent crops. The main objective of the state aid is to minimise the losses incurred by farmers from the spread of pests in permanent fruit plantations, as well as in strawberry and raspberry plantations. During the autumn stage, funding will be granted to small and medium-sized enterprises – registered farmers growing fruit crops, strawberries and raspberries.
The funds are intended for the purchase of plant protection products for accelerating the processes of leaf decay during the winter season, which are applied during the period of mass leaf fall in autumn. The aid is provided in the form of compensation for part of the costs of farmers growing pome and stone fruit species, strawberries and raspberries. Under the scheme, during the autumn stage, expenses of up to BGN 100 per hectare (including VAT) are supported.
Applications for support will be accepted from 4 to 18 November at the regional directorates of the State Fund "Agriculture". The deadline for reporting the activities carried out in relation to the autumn spraying is 30 November, and the deadline for concluding contracts and disbursing the funds under the state aid is 19 December 2016.
