Over the past 27 years BIOFACH has become one of the largest trade fairs in the world for organic products. Biofach 2016 is held from 10 to 13 February in Nuremberg, Germany. Representatives of the Association of Bulgarian Villages (ABS) will participate in the international exhibition. In parallel with the forum for organic production, VIVANES – an exhibition for natural cosmetics – will also be held.
Representatives of the Association of Bulgarian Villages (ABS) will take part in the international exhibition for organic production - Biofach 2016. ABS will hold meetings with representatives of branch organizations, processors, producers and trading companies. The aim is to gather useful information and to establish contacts for the benefit of Bulgarian producers, processors and exporters of organic products who carry out their activities in the villages. The planned meetings of the association are with representatives of the relevant sectors with which no contact has been established with Bulgaria so far. The focus of the visit will also be on alternative forms of agriculture, market marketing and agricultural training.
BIOFACH
The exhibition is traditionally held every year in February in Nuremberg, Germany. It is organized under the auspices of the International Federation of Organic Agriculture Movements (IFOAM).
It all began in 1990 in the town hall of Ludwigshafen, when about 2,500 visitors came to the exhibition and the exhibitors were only 197. In 1999 BIOFACH was held for the first time in Nuremberg, where the number of visitors had already increased to 21,000 people and the number of exhibitors to 1,276.
The exhibition is oriented not only towards commercial representations and the discovery of new organic markets, but also towards consumers, in whom in recent years the EU has been trying to awaken a taste for alternative agriculture. Nowhere else can producers, suppliers, potential clients and large international companies meet in one place as they can in Nuremberg. Therefore, the scope of this event is not limited only to the presentation of organic production, but also includes the organization of a parallel forum programme, whose highlights this year will once again focus on sustainable and organic agriculture, policy and trade in the sector. BIOFACH is held in different places around the world, or more precisely on three separate continents, to demonstrate that organic farms are always locally established and that this is precisely where the secret of high-quality organic production lies. Of great interest are also the other annual fairs such as BIOFACH America, BIOFACH Japan, BIOFACH India and BIOFACH China.
