Dalena CLP – new sunflower hybrid with high yield potential

The Dobrudzha Agricultural Institute at the Agricultural Academy offers a new sunflower hybrid „DALENA CLP“, suitable for the Clearfield ^R Plus technology. The „DALENA CLP“ hybrid is a reliable and stable hybrid that can be depended on in different years with varying soil and climatic changes.

It belongs to the group of medium-early hybrids and is adaptable for all regions of the country suitable for sunflower cultivation.  It has high yield potential under limited stress conditions of moisture and drought. The branched root system and the strong stem of the plants make the hybrid highly resistant to lodging. Plant height is within the range of 155-160  cm. The head diameter is 22-25 cm. The weight of 1000 seeds is about 70 g. The oil content in the seeds is 47%, and the protein content in the whole seed is 29%.  

The „DALENA CLP“ hybrid is tolerant to foliar pathogens – Phoma and Alternaria. It is resistant to downy mildew /race 731/. The hybrid also carries a gene for resistance to the parasite broomrape /up to race G/. It is suitable for cultivation in fields infested with grass and broadleaf weeds.

The optimal plant density is about 60,000 plants per hectare. Its seed production is facilitated, as the maternal and paternal lines flower at the same time and can be sown simultaneously. The hybrid has no special cultivation requirements.

The „DALENA CLP“ hybrid is protected by a certificate issued by the Patent Office under No. 11276P2.

At the International Agricultural Exhibition AGRA 2024 – Plovdiv, the „DALENA CLP“ hybrid was awarded a diploma and certificate for an innovative product in the field of innovations.
