The truly new herbicide QUELEX®
QUELEX® is approved for use in wheat, barley, rye, oats and triticale. QUELEX is a systemic post-emergence herbicide for the control of a large number of broadleaf weeds, including those resistant to sulfonylurea and hormone-like herbicides.
How is QUELEX® different from the currently used analogous herbicides in cereals?
First of all, it is the new active substance it contains, Arylex™ Active.
Through its mode of action, QUELEX® controls broadleaf weeds in two ways, which provides a unique synergism and efficacy.
QUELEX® is a new stage in weed control and controls weeds resistant to sulfonylurea and hormone-like herbicides due to the active substance Arylex™ Active – from a new chemical group and with a different mode of action against a wide spectrum of weeds, with its most significant advantage being that it is the first new active substance created after more than 20 years and is a tool aimed at managing resistance that has developed in some weed species as a result of long-term use of sulfonylurea herbicides.
The other active substance, florasulam, in QUELEX® has proven excellent efficacy against a wide range of broadleaf weeds. These qualities of the active substances in QUELEX® complement each other in the so-called synergistic effect, which provides farmers with a new tool and a new standard for the control of broadleaf weeds in cereal crops and, in particular, benchmark efficacy against persistent or resistant weeds such as Corn poppy, Dead-nettle and Larkspur.
QUELEX® stands out among its competitors with its exceptional application flexibility from the 1st leaf to the flag leaf, an extremely wide temperature range from +2°C to 27°C, and fast and excellent efficacy even under large temperature amplitudes. QUELEX® also contains a built-in safener, which guarantees 100% selectivity to the crop. After the application of QUELEX® there are no restrictions for the following crops in the crop rotation in the autumn and in the spring of the following year.
QUELEX® can be applied both in the autumn and in the spring, with a recommended treatment rate, both in autumn and in spring, of 5 g/da. It is recommended to add the adjuvant Vivolt™, especially when there are overgrown weeds and high density of ephemeral species and creeping thistle.
