The enemy attacks potato tubers from the period of leaf mass withering until harvest. The danger from it does not diminish even during the temporary storage of the produce in warehouses. The enemy is a small moth. The damage is caused by the caterpillar, which typically burrows into the tuber around the eyes and feeds on the fleshy part beneath the skin. In cases of severe infestation, it penetrates into the interior. The tunnels are filled with brown excrement, webs, and potato particles.
