JUNTA QUATTRO is a latest generation insecto-fungicide, covering the full spectrum of diseases and pests that attack autumn crop seeds, both in the soil and in the initial stages of their development after emergence.
Why is this of exceptional importance for producers and do winter cereals need insecticidal protection?
Just like sunflower, corn, and rapeseed, wheat and barley also need protection from soil pests - primarily from wireworm species. The fact that one of the precise methods for determining their density is with wheat bait is convincing proof that these crops are also very attractive to these dangerous pests.
What is the reason the problem is not recognized and farmers have not applied such a combined product until now?
The main reason is that until now, producers have partially solved this problem in two ways:
- A higher seeding rate, which, however, is a double-edged sword. Because with a high density of pests, a compensatory effect could be achieved and the crop could have normal density and plant stand, but only if the damage distribution is uniform. Then we can expect the cereal crops to tiller relatively normally. However, if there is no high pest density, all seeds will emerge, including the planted buffer, which will thicken the crop. This leads to many other adverse effects, such as poor tillering, weak, highly etiolated competing plants. And we must not forget the additional expense incurred for the excess seeds!
- Treatment with a foliar insecticide - what are the drawbacks? One of them is the inability to determine the most precise moment for spraying. Bayer studies show that aphids and leafhoppers are found on young plants right at emergence, and by sucking sap, they can infect plants with viruses, which subsequently totally limit the crop's potential. To achieve the level of protection that JUNTA QUATTRO provides, treatment with a foliar insecticide must be done right at emergence, which will trample the crop very early. Furthermore, treating seeds with JUNTA QUATTRO provides continuous protection from pests 40-50 days after sowing, a residual effect that can only be obtained from a double application of a good foliar insecticide. However, there always remains the risk of gaps where plants remain unprotected due to the inability to enter the field.
When to all this the cost of the treatment itself is added, the fact remains that JUNTA QUATTRO, besides being an exceptional innovation, is also quite attractive from an economic point of view.
How does JUNTA QUATTRO contribute to more profitable grain production?
- The seeding rate can be optimized to achieve a perfect plant stand. When the determined number of seeds per sq.m. are sown, it can be counted on that these seeds are protected from soil pests and there is no need to plant buffers, which, besides making production more expensive, can also cause problems later.
- Long-lasting and continuous protection is provided (within 40-50 days after sowing) against aphids, leafhoppers, cereal flies, and ground beetles, without the need to predict exactly when the invasion of the respective pests begins.
- Plants have better vigor as a result of the favorable physiological effect of the 4 active substances.
- There is no need to spray the crop in the most sensitive initial phase of plant development.
- The development of fungal diseases is limited, because the openings that pests make when damaging plants are entry gates for the development in autumn of net blotch and other pathogens.
- One of the best fungicides for seed treatment, which controls smut species, various types of root rot, as well as barley stripe disease.
JUNTA QUATTRO gives you the opportunity to move to the next, higher technological level of production!
