The December issue of the journal "Plant Protection" – 2021 has been published.

In the focus topic of the issue we present Corteva Agriscience™.

The company is fully dedicated to agriculture, combining the experience and traditions in the field of plant protection of DuPont Pioneer, DuPont Crop Protection and Dow AgroSciences.

Over the years, Corteva Agriscience™ has been working intensively to establish leading positions in the breeding of new hybrids and varieties, plant protection products and digital technologies that facilitate the work of farmers.

Modern agriculture is facing many challenges. One of them is the EU "Green Deal" in the plant protection sector, which has imposed restrictive measures on all agrochemical companies with regard to widely used active substances in plant protection products. This has primarily affected the insecticide portfolios of the companies.

The global agrochemical industry has not remained indifferent; Corteva Agriscience™ has also managed to respond to the changes on the market. Leading among the company’s achievements is the insecticide with an active ingredient (cyantraniliprole) from a new chemical group (anthranilic diamide). Lumiposa™ 625 FS is in the form of a flowable concentrate for seed treatment with systemic and contact action and has already been authorized for use for the treatment of oilseed rape seeds against the main pests, and a large number of companies offering oilseed rape are using it. Lumiposa is expected to receive EU-wide registration soon for the treatment of maize seeds against wireworms, cutworms and Diabrotica.

In Bulgaria, Corteva is an undisputed leader in the production and trade of sunflower and maize seeds under the Pioneer brand. The company offers on the Bulgarian market Pioneer Protector sunflower hybrids with genetic resistance to all races of broomrape identified and spread so far in the country.
