At the end of November and the beginning of December – a sharp drop in temperatures

At the end of November and the beginning of December, the agrometeorological conditions will be characterized by increased dynamics. During the first half of the period they will be determined by above-normal temperatures for the season, which will prolong the vegetation of the autumn-sown crops. For the winter cereal crops, depending on the sowing dates, different growth stages will be observed. For wheat, the third leaf stage will predominate. In some places in the Danube Plain and in the northeastern regions of the country, in crops sown within the agrotechnical time frame, the beginning of the tillering stage will be observed. In the later-sown crops, at the end of the second ten-day period of November, the emergence stage of the autumn-sown crops will be in progress.

After the above-normal temperatures, during the second half of the period the agrometeorological conditions will undergo a substantial change.

At the end of November and the beginning of December, a sharp decrease in temperatures is forecast, with mean daily values around and below the biological minimum required for the vegetation of the winter cereal crops. The expected cooling will lead to a slowdown, and in the higher fields, where precipitation including snow is not excluded, to a cessation of the vegetation processes in the autumn-sown crops.

During most days of the period, the forecast unstable weather, with frequent precipitation, will limit the implementation of seasonal agrotechnical activities. More suitable conditions for planting fruit trees will occur at the beginning of the period.
