In 2017, the magazine “Plant Protection & Seeds and Fertilizers” will publish 9 issues of the special supplement “BIOSTIMULANTS FOR AGRICULTURAL CROPS”, which will be distributed together with the main printed body.
The topic has a large-scale agronomic scope and is the subject of increased attention and interest on the part of agricultural producers. This is because these products are already becoming an integral part of modern technological packages, a unique toolkit for structuring formulas for plant resilience under conditions of an uncertain climatic environment, phytosanitary pressure, and the presence of various in scale and origin deficits in the immune and nutritional systems of biological organisms. It generates a new dynamic in risk management.
The new project “BIOSTIMULANTS FOR AGRICULTURAL CROPS” is the work of the scientific team of the Department of “Plant Physiology” at the Agricultural University in Plovdiv, headed by Prof. Andon Vasilev. Each publication will be configured from three key elements:
- Current information on the respective product group.
- Experimental section – includes specifics, analysis and commentary on scientific trials with biostimulants carried out in the department in recent years. Some results, facts and conclusions from this large-scale study will be reported for the first time.
- Recommendations for practice – the qualities and advantages of the products positioned on the Bulgarian market will be indicated, as well as the ways of their effective application in the field.
