In the middle of the month, the agrometeorological conditions were determined by average daily temperatures higher than the climatic norms. This led to the transition of the winter cereal crops from deep to relative dormancy, and in the southern regions of the country conditions were created for the occurrence of delayed vegetation. In early-flowering fruit species (almond), in the Plovdiv region, premature bud burst was observed.
After the brief cooling that occurred at the very end of the past period, during the first half of the next seven-day period above-normal temperatures are again forecast. Their average daily values will be around the biological minimum required for the resumption and progression of vegetative processes in winter cereal crops. The largest part of the autumn-sown wheat and barley stands are at the leaf formation stage (2–3 leaves).
During the second half of the period, a decrease in temperatures is forecast, which will prevent fruit species from emerging from their state of forced dormancy. Critical minimum temperatures for the autumn-sown wheat, barley and rapeseed crops are not expected.
During the first half of the period, the conditions will be suitable for carrying out pruning in orchards and vineyards, and for conducting fungicide treatments in fruit crops.
