Unstable weather with showers until the end of the week

By the end of the week, the agrometeorological conditions in the country will continue to be determined by unstable weather with frequent precipitation. This will continue to hamper the wheat harvest. The delayed collection of the grain crop due to adverse meteorological and agrometeorological conditions is also a reason for the deteriorated quality of the grain.

Under conditions of increased atmospheric and soil moisture and temperature conditions relatively close to the norm, the probability for development and spread of fungal diseases in agricultural crops will remain high.

In maize, the stages of silking, silk browning in the medium-early and late hybrids, and milk maturity in the early hybrids will take place. In sunflower stands sown within the agrotechnical time limits, seed filling will occur, while in the later-sown ones – flowering and fertilization.

In vegetable crops, the risk of infection with pepper downy mildew, potato late blight and brown leaf spots in tomatoes remains.

During most of the period there will be no suitable conditions for plant protection spraying due to the expected precipitation. At the first opportunity, it is imperative to carry out treatments with fungicides with curative action.
