Requirements for Establishment of Intensive Cherry Orchards

On 23 March (Friday) at the farm of Yordan Tsvetanov in the village of Vinogradets, Pazardzhik District, an information meeting will be held by the National Agricultural Advisory Service (Regional Office Pazardzhik) and the Agricultural University – Plovdiv on the topic: „Requirements for the establishment of intensive cherry orchards. Types of rootstocks. Varieties prevailing in practice“.
At the seminar Assoc. Prof. Dr. Anton Yordanov from the Agricultural University – Plovdiv will acquaint farmers with the biological characteristics and requirements of cherry to soil and climatic conditions, the establishment of a new cherry orchard, the specific features of growing intensive orchards. Later at the farm of the farmer Yordan Tsvetanov, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Anton Yordanov will make a demonstration of agrotechnical activities in cherry cultivation and will acquaint the attendees with the cherry varieties that are prevailing in practice.
Experts from the Territorial Regional Office of NAAS in the town of Pazardzhik will present opportunities for support to agricultural producers under Sub-measure 6.1 „Start-up aid for young farmers“, Sub-measure 4.1.2 „Support for investments in agricultural holdings“ and Direct Payments Campaign 2018.
The seminar will be held in the village of Vinogradets, Pazardzhik District – in the library hall (theoretical part) and at the farm of Yordan Tsvetanov – cherry orchards in the village of Vinogradets (demonstration).
