A total of 23 universities were awarded at the ceremony for presenting the awards for the best universities in Bulgaria for 2017, which took place at the Military Club in Sofia in January. For the second consecutive year, the Agricultural University in Plovdiv received the prize in three specialties – Crop Production, Plant Protection and Animal Science.
Three agricultural universities were distinguished by the Minister of Agriculture Rumen Porozhanov at the official award ceremony for the best universities in Bulgaria for 2017. The Agricultural University in Plovdiv once again took first place in the specialties Crop Production, Plant Protection and Animal Science. The University of Forestry in Sofia ranked among the best in the fields of Forestry and Veterinary Medicine. The University of Food Technologies in Plovdiv was also among the winners with its specialty Food Technologies.
“This award obliges us to achieve even higher results,” stated Hristina Yancheva, Rector of the Agricultural University.
The distinctions for the universities are based on the Rating System of Higher Education Institutions in Bulgaria*, which is developed by the Ministry of Education.
The event was organized by “24 Chasa”, with the support of “Dundee Precious Metals”, “UniCredit Bulbank” and “Kaolin”.
* The Rating System of Higher Education Institutions in Bulgaria assists users in choosing a higher education institution. The updated 2017 edition of the system contains information about 51 accredited higher education institutions in Bulgaria, which offer programmes in specialties distributed across 52 professional fields. With a view to the individual interests of users, the system makes it possible to create various rankings of higher education institutions, differing in scope and type, for each of the existing professional fields.
