By the end of the month the agrometeorological conditions will be determined by above-normal temperatures. In the field areas of the country, the forecast values of the average daily temperatures will significantly exceed the biological minimum required for the development of wheat, barley and winter rapeseed. The expected mild weather for the season will prolong the autumn vegetation of the winter cereal crops and winter rapeseed and will be a prerequisite for progress in the development of the late-sown November stands.
Decline and cessation of vegetation in autumn crops
Until 30 November a decrease and normalization of the temperature conditions is forecast, which will lead to a decline and, in the higher fields, to cessation of vegetation in the autumn crops. At the end of the third ten-day period, wheat and barley sown within the agrotechnical timeframe will be predominantly in the tillering stage. The third leaf stage will predominate in stands sown at the beginning of November, and the emergence stage in those sown in the middle of the month. In a large part of the rapeseed stands the rosette stage (6–7 leaves) will be observed. In some places in the southeastern regions (agricultural station Sliven) the height of the rapeseed stands has reached 25–27 cm, and the rosette – 7–8 leaves.
At the end of the month there will be suitable conditions for planting fruit trees and for carrying out the autumn plant protection spraying in the orchards.
