The high temperatures at the beginning of the second ten-day period of November, with maximum values reaching in some places 19-20°C in Vratsa, Pleven, Veliko Tarnovo, Varna, Elhovo, Sandanski, Kardzhali, and in the Lovech area up to 22°C, have activated the vegetative processes in the sown autumn crops.
During the second ten-day period of November, the development of wheat, barley and winter rapeseed in the field regions of the country will proceed at temperatures around and above the climatic norms for the period.
At the end of the second half of the period, a cooling and a substantial change in the agrometeorological conditions are forecast. In the higher fields, where snowfall is expected, a slowing down and cessation of vegetation in the autumn crops will occur. At the beginning of the third ten-day period of November, in most of the field regions of the country, the forecast values of the mean daily temperatures will not exceed the biological minimum required for the development of wheat, barley and winter rapeseed. At the end of the period, in the winter cereal crops sown in October within the agrotechnical time frame, the tillering stage will predominate. In the crops sown during the first week of November, the emergence and leaf formation stages will be observed. In winter rapeseed sown at the beginning of autumn, the rosette stage (6-7 leaves) will be observed.
In most parts of the country, the soil water reserves are very good. During the period, the expected precipitation will increase the autumn moisture reserves in the 50 and 100 cm soil layers. In most of the country they are very good, with levels above 80-85% of field capacity (FC).
