The Golden Wines of Bulgaria

1 large grand gold, 23 gold and 34 silver distinctions were won by Bulgarian wines at the prestigious Concours Mondial de Bruxelles 2017. 38 of the medals are for red wine, 13 for white and 7 for rosé. Additionally, Bulgaria won 3 awards for organic and bio wine. The official awarding ceremony for the Bulgarian wines took place on 26 September 2017 at the „Boris Hristov“ House of Culture in the city of Plovdiv.
For the third consecutive year Bulgaria proves that wines of exceptional quality and taste are produced in our country. With 58 medals won from 146 samples, the success rate is close to 40%. Our country ranks first in the ratio number of samples – number of medals received.
Guests at the official medal award ceremony were the Executive Director of the Executive Agency on Vine and Wine - Eng. Krasimir Koev, the Mayor of Plovdiv Municipality - Eng. Ivan Totev, Mr. Vladimir Tudjarov - Secretary General of the Ministry of Economy, and Mr. Baudouin Havaux - President of the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles.
