In August, until the second half of September, the flight of butterflies of the third generation of the pest continues. The larvae of this generation damage the ripening and already ripe berries of the grapes, binding them with silk threads. As a result of the damage, conditions are created for the penetration of the causal agent of grey mould.

Strategy for pest control:

Treat at EPV: for table grape varieties 7-8 larvae per 100 grape clusters, and for wine grape varieties 10-12 larvae per 100 grape clusters.

In August, overlapping populations of several generations are observed. In case of severe infestation, the leaf blades of the vines are deformed, become rough and crunch when crushed. Temperatures above 32-35°C are lethal for the mite populations. During the first half of September, the females move under the old bark of the grapevine plants in order to overwinter.

Strategy for pest control:

Treatment is carried out against adults and larvae when the EPV is reached - 9-10 individuals/leaf - until the end of August.
