During a round table organized by the National Potato Growers Association, it was announced that all agricultural producers cultivating over 10 decares of potatoes will, for a second consecutive year, be eligible to apply under the scheme for the control of soil pests from the family Wireworms (Elateridae). The funds will cover up to 100% of potato growers' expenses for the purchase of approved plant protection products. The process of receiving the aid and its proper distribution will be monitored by the Directorate "Short-Term Aid Schemes" (STAS) within the State Fund "Agriculture" (SFA). The Director of STAS clarified that applications for aid are to be submitted to the regional directorates of the SFA at the permanent address for individuals and at the registered address for legal entities. The budget for the scheme and the application deadline will be determined by a decision of the SFA's Managing Board, no later than the end of March. All information regarding the scheme will be published on the SFA's website in the "State Aid" section, immediately after the adoption of the guidelines for implementing the aid and the determination of the application deadline by the Fund's Managing Board.
