On 10 July, issue 6/2017 of the journal „Plant Protection” was published. The main topic of the issue is soil-borne pathogens and the enormous threat to the underground parts of plants. In several consecutive articles we will present soil-borne pathogens in vegetable crops, diseases of the roots of fruit trees, as well as diseases of the root system and stem bases of winter cereals. Prof. Dr. Hristo Bozukov has prepared for our readers detailed information on root phytopathogens in tobacco. In issue 6/2017, the focus of integrated weed management will be on arable crops in field crop rotation – sunflower and maize.

Attention: The spotted-wing drosophila (Drosophila suzukii) is attacking peaches in the Sliven region.

You will also find the monthly calendar for plant protection measures in fruit crops, vineyards and vegetables, prepared with great care and consideration for the farmer by the experts from the Bulgarian Food Safety Agency and the Maritsa Vegetable Crops Research Institute in Plovdiv.
