The specialized exhibition “Colorful Spring 2017” will delight its visitors with hanging strawberry gardens, a Japanese weeping cherry and an ornamental red-leaved peach at the International Fair Plovdiv. Visitors to the expo, which is held until 2 April, can also see the specialized exhibition for flowers, ornamental vegetation, garden equipment and accessories.
To grow strawberries, it is not always necessary to have a garden. Balconies and terraces are also suitable for planting the ornamental strawberry varieties called hanging strawberries. They are very productive and almost until the end of autumn they can please the eye and adorn your home garden paradise. Furthermore, their taste qualities are not to be underestimated; some of the varieties have large and juicy fruits, rich in many microelements (phosphorus, magnesium, calcium), vitamin C and folic acid. Visitors to the specialized exhibition “Colorful Spring 2017”, which takes place from 29 March to 2 April at the International Fair Plovdiv, can learn about the methods of growing these attractive strawberry varieties, when and how to plant them, and whether there are any specific care requirements for them.
Another surprise for ornamental plant enthusiasts are the fruit trees for decoration. Such are the Japanese weeping cherry and the ornamental red-leaved peach. Spiny gooseberries and thornless blackberries are the other novelties of the exhibition.
A total of 41 companies offer traditional and exotic flowers, ornamental shrubs and trees, seedlings, seeds, fertilizers, plant protection products, tools, ceramic containers and accessories. Fruit growing is also strongly represented, with traditional and new types of fruit trees. For the first time, nurseries from Greece are participating, demonstrating Mediterranean plants.
Visitors will also see an exhibition of Easter eggs, for the decoration of which more than 20 techniques have been used. The initiative belongs to the Association of Czechs, Slovaks and Friends, which in this way recalls the customs related to the great Christian feast of the Resurrection of Christ.
The specialized exhibition for flowers, ornamental vegetation, garden equipment and accessories is the most preferred forum for professionals and amateurs in the field of gardening and landscaping.
The exhibition can be visited from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., and on Sunday – until 2:00 p.m. The ticket price is 3 leva, and for students, pensioners and persons with disabilities the price is 2 leva.
