Competition for Innovations - AGRA 2017

A total of 15 exhibits were distinguished by the jury of the Innovation Competition, which was held for the ninth time. Fifty-six products and developments of 36 companies and scientific institutes competed in it. This year the highest number of awards is in the category “Scientific Activity and Developments” – four exhibits from the “AGRA 2017” exhibition, and two prizes were awarded in the category “Fertilisers and Preparations for Agriculture”.

The award ceremony of the Innovation Competition, which is an integral part of the International Agricultural Exhibition AGRA 2017, took place on 23 February at the Park Hotel “Sankt Peterburg” in Plovdiv. The awards were presented by the Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food Assoc. Prof. Dr. Svetla Yancheva, Chair of the Jury. The latter included representatives of the Agricultural Academy, higher education institutions and branch associations.

Category “Scientific Activity and Developments”

The highest number of award winners is in the category “Scientific Activity and Developments” – four exhibits from the “AGRA 2017” exhibition. One of them is the technology for organic raspberry production of the Institute of Agriculture in Kyustendil. The other favourites in the category are: dried kvass with instant flour from apple pomace and wheat semolina of the Institute of Food Research and Development in Plovdiv; the new sesame variety “Nevena” for mechanised cultivation and the new winter wheat variety “Ginra” of the Institute of Plant Genetic Resources in Sadovo.

Category “Fertilisers and Preparations for Agriculture”

There are two prizes in the category “Fertilisers and Preparations for Agriculture”. They are for the universal insecticide and biocide “Talizma” of “Arysta LifeScience”, Belgium, and the liquid compound fertiliser FAST RK of “Agropolychim”. In the section “Seed Varieties and Planting Material”, the maize hybrid “Optimum Aquamax”, presented by “Pioneer Semena Bulgaria”, was distinguished.

Section “Machinery, Equipment and Technologies for Crop Production”

There are three winners in the section “Machinery, Equipment and Technologies for Crop Production” – foldable plastic crates of “Enko Plastics”, an inter-row planting machine for plants of the Greek company “Sanidas Evangelos”, and a tanker for transporting liquid nitrogen fertiliser of “Madara”.

Vinaria 2017

The technological innovations of “Vinaria 2017” turned out to be the grape harvester “Pellenc” from the exhibition of “Rimex Technologies” and “Air Mixing” – a solution for extraction and homogenisation of wines, presented by “Adig”.

FoodTech 2017

The exhibition aroused great interest in the organic vinegar from goji berry fruits. The recipe for the organic vinegar is a solution of global significance, as it preserves the beneficial properties of the fruits, explained the producers from the company “Organic BG”.

During the International Exhibition AGRA 2017, Agria AD received a Certificate for the best design of a fair exposition.
