In 2017, Syngenta took another step forward in enriching its sunflower product portfolio, both with new hybrids and new plant protection products.

As one of the leading companies in sunflower, Syngenta strives to provide growers with new products and complete technologies to improve yield results across all technologies - Conventional; Clearfield®; Clearfield® Plus and Express®. The hybrids we offer on the Bulgarian market are adapted to the country's conditions, which makes them leaders in yield potential and oil content.

For 2017, the company will offer the well-known and best-selling Clearfield® hybrids NK Neoma and NK Adagio. To these, the new offering SY Diamantis can now be added, a hybrid with an unsurpassed yield potential, suitable for various soil and climatic conditions. Characteristic of SY Diamantis is its tolerance to stress conditions, which defines it as a hybrid suitable for cultivation throughout the country.

For Clearfield® Plus hybrids, the already familiar SY Bacardi CLP and SY Neostar CLP will be offered. SY Bacardi CLP is a medium-early hybrid that is adaptive to environmental conditions and is suitable for both intensive and extensive cultivation. SY Neostar CLP is also a medium-early hybrid, distinguished by its potential for high yield and high oil content (50%) under intensive cultivation conditions. The results achieved in 2016 significantly increased interest in Clearfield® Plus hybrids, and for the new 2017 season, we expect a significant increase in the areas planted with them. As an innovative company, Syngenta responds to growers' needs with the latest generation genetics for hybrids with higher yield potential combined with high oil content. It is precisely in this developing segment of Clearfield® Plus hybrids that our latest offering is: SY Akademi CLP – a hybrid with stable yield potential, tolerant to drought and stress conditions. Among the Express® hybrids, Syngenta will again this year offer Sumiko NTS and Subaro NTS. Two hybrids that have gained popularity over the last two years due to their excellent performance both in terms of yield and oil content. Sumiko NTS, with its potential for oil content (52%), ranks first in this indicator in Syngenta's portfolio. Subaro NTS is a hybrid with stable and high yields, suitable for cultivation in stress conditions and dry climate regions.

The well-known hybrid NK Condi, as well as the hybrids SY Arizona and SY Kadix will be in focus among conventional hybrids. NK Condi, the hybrid unsurpassed in yield and oil content over the years, successfully partners with SY Arizona, as both hybrids have high yield potential and oil content (52%). SY Arizona, with its plasticity regarding environmental conditions, is a brilliantly performing hybrid throughout Bulgaria. High yields and oil content, plus the hybrid's tolerance to Broomrape races up to F, as well as to stress conditions, explain the great interest of growers in it. Depending on the specifics of their region, growers now have the opportunity to choose the right hybrid for them.

In addition to its excellent genetics, Syngenta also offers complete Plant Protection Programs, adapted for all technologies. To achieve optimal results, top yields, and high oil content, growers can rely on plant protection programs from Syngenta. Syngenta's programs are distinguished by high selectivity, reliability, easy-to-apply products, and optimal profitability. The technology includes a soil herbicide - Gardoprim® plus Gold for a clean start of the crop, a post-emergence herbicide - Fusilade Forte® for control of grass weeds and volunteer cereals from rootstock, as well as Listego® for Clearfield® hybrids against all Broomrape races and the problematic weeds Orobanche and Phelipanche. This year, the technology has been enhanced with a fungicide - Amistar® Gold for control of the main sunflower diseases – Phoma, Phomopsis, and Sclerotinia head rot. Over the years, Syngenta's technology has proven to be unsurpassed in its effectiveness and selectivity. Gardoprim® plus Gold performs excellently and often agricultural producers do not require a post-emergence correction, regardless of which technology hybrids they sow in their fields. Gardoprim® plus Gold is a soil herbicide without an equivalent on the Bulgarian market in terms of the spectrum of controlled weeds (annual grass and broadleaf weeds) and the duration of residual effect. The main treatment after sowing before crop emergence with the soil herbicide Gardoprim® plus Gold has proven high efficacy for weed control. For the second herbicide treatment, depending on the needs and the specific case, the post-emergence herbicides Fusilade Forte® or Listego® are applied for Clearfield® hybrids.
