The causal agent of potato blight on tomatoes (the fungus Phytophthora infestans) attacks all above-ground parts of tomato plants. Therefore, greenhouses should be inspected for the appearance of disease symptoms. The first spots should be sought on the periphery of the lowest leaves. Irregular to rounded water-soaked spots are observed, which later turn brown. Under high humidity, a ring of whitish spore-forming mold appears on the underside of the spots.
