Syngenta is a company that once again offers producers a proven formula for profitability in oilseed rape, based on a comprehensive and complete approach including: seeds, crop protection and foliar fertilizers.

Integrated solutions in oilseed rape cultivation are of exceptional importance for achieving high yields. The formula for success lies in the correct and timely implementation of the respective technology. Over the years, producers have become convinced of the benefits of applying a holistic and sustainable approach in oilseed rape production.

Thanks to its experience and systematic trials in different regions of the country, Syngenta successfully selects and introduces suitable oilseed rape hybrids. Through this process, the proposed hybrids are fully aligned with the specific characteristics of the various agro-meteorological conditions in Bulgaria. The patented SAFECROSS genetic line ensures higher yields and meets market needs for hybrids with high resistance to diseases and adverse climatic conditions. During the past season, Syngenta launched on the market the new hybrid SY VEZUVIUS. The hybrid met producers’ expectations, performing excellently in different regions of the country. SY VEZUVIUS is a medium-early hybrid with a low and compact habit, suitable for stressful conditions such as high temperatures and drought. In the presence of fertile soils and optimal moisture, the hybrid develops its full potential. The hybrid NK CARAVEL, well known to Bulgarian farmers, continues to be one of the most sought-after Syngenta hybrids. NK CARAVEL is characterized by its high yield potential and excellent adaptability to environmental conditions. Syngenta’s product portfolio in oilseed rape also includes the early hybrid NK TECHNIK, which has pronounced tolerance to low temperatures. By including it in their production, farmers achieve a well-distributed harvest period over time and peace of mind during yield collection. NK OCTANS and NK COLUMBUS complement Syngenta’s portfolio, standing out with good tolerance to diseases and high potential for oil content.

The complete technology for cultivation of the crop covers: crop rotation, soil cultivation, crop protection, base fertilization, foliar feeding and everything else that must be taken into account until harvest. Proper implementation of the complete technology ensures a good start for the oilseed rape and excellent stand density of the crop.

For uncompromising control against the emergence of resistant weeds, Syngenta offers its solution on the Bulgarian market: the soil herbicide TERIDOX. TERIDOX is a broad-spectrum herbicide for the control of annual broadleaf and grassy weeds (including wild mustard), applied after sowing and before crop emergence. The established practice in Bulgaria is to use herbicides with a similar mode of action in the crop rotation. The so-called ALS inhibitors (Imidazolinones; Sulfonylureas; Triazolpyrimidines; Triazolones) are among the most commonly used herbicides in sunflower, maize, cereals and, more recently, in oilseed rape. Syngenta’s program offers the use of the herbicide TERIDOX, which has a different mode of action and reduces the risk of weed resistance and failure in weed control in the other crops (sunflower and wheat). TERIDOX has excellent activity in controlling the main grassy and broadleaf weeds and guarantees crop emergence without weed competition, allowing the crop to develop optimally until the onset of winter dormancy.

At a later stage of development, for control of volunteer cereals and grass weed infestations, it is appropriate to treat with the highly effective foliar systemic herbicide FUSILADE FORTE, which, after reaching the leaves of grass weeds and volunteers, is translocated via the phloem and xylem to the roots and growing points and reliably destroys the weeds, while at the same time having a high level of crop safety.

TOPREX, already established in production and well known to producers, is the growth regulator and fungicide for high yields in oilseed rape. TOPREX is registered in Bulgaria as a growth regulator and fungicide against Phoma, but it is also successful in the control of Alternaria. TOPREX can be applied in autumn, when, in addition to its fungicidal action, it restricts stem growth, stimulates the root system, increases cold tolerance and preserves crop density and yield potential. With spring application, besides limiting stem elongation and preserving yield potential, TOPREX stimulates branching, reduces the risk of lodging and synchronizes flowering and ripening.

KARATE ZEON is the logical choice for pest control in oilseed rape. It is registered in the country against oilseed rape sawfly and pollen beetle. KARATE ZEON provides excellent protection against pests and is safe for bees (when used according to the label instructions).

Reducing harvest losses is achieved through desiccation of the crop. REGLONE FORTE stands out as an extremely suitable product, ensuring controlled harvesting of high-quality produce. The product is effective even at lower temperatures, which is due to the fact that its efficient action requires the presence of light rather than heat.

Timely application of the nutrients critical for oilseed rape is important for the optimal development of the crop. WUXAL Macromix helps to overcome and quickly correct nutrient deficiencies. With autumn application, WUXAL Macromix increases tolerance to cold and frost. Application of WUXAL Sulphur – specially developed for crops with a closed canopy – prevents and quickly corrects sulphur deficiency and improves the uptake of nitrogen fertilizers applied with base fertilization. With the complete technology of

Syngenta provides Bulgarian farmers with a formula for higher yields with better quality.
