The European Week of Bees and Pollination will take place in Brussels

The jubilee fifth edition of the European Week of Bees and Pollination will take place from 13 to 15 June in Brussels. The construction of a bee village in front of the European Parliament building will acquaint the attending guests with the contribution of bees to the conservation of biodiversity and with the challenges currently faced by the beekeeping sector.

Special participants in the international conference under the motto “Bees care for Europeans. Do Europeans care for bees?” will be Prince Albert II of Monaco, whose foundation is actively engaged in the protection of wild bees, and the European Commissioner for Agriculture Phil Hogan.

Within the framework of the European Week of Bees and Pollination, for the second consecutive year Maria Gabriel, who is Chair of the Beekeeping Working Group in the European Parliament. It will provide opportunities for beekeepers from all over Europe to exchange information on the state of the sector in the individual Member States and to establish models of cooperation between the European and national institutions responsible for the sector, industry, science and beekeepers, including from Bulgaria. The conference is aimed primarily at the gaps in European policies and at the development of specific instruments for the protection of bees.
