DFI paid the subsidies for pest control in permanent crops

Subsidies amounting to 2,529,444 leva were transferred by the State Fund “Agriculture” under the State Aid Scheme for compensating the costs of agricultural producers related to the implementation of measures under the National Programme for Pest Control in Perennial Crops during the winter period.

More than 2,100 producers – small and medium-sized enterprises cultivating perennial fruit plantations – pome and stone fruit species, received financial assistance for the purchase of the eligible plant protection products under the programme for the destruction of pests during the winter season. Treatment with the products is applied to the fruit trees in the period after the passing of the cold spells until bud swelling.

For 2016 a total of 3 million leva have been allocated under the Scheme. The budget for the spring stage of the aid was increased by decision of the Management Board of the Fund “Agriculture” from 2,000,000 leva to 2,732,585 leva, with a view to achieving the objectives of the programme and the full payment of the eligible amount of aid to agricultural producers.
