Assistance for Pest Control in Permanent Crops

The application process under the State Aid Scheme for compensating the costs of farmers related to the implementation of measures under the National Programme for the Control of Pests in Permanent Crops during the Winter Period for 2016 has been completed. A total of 2,267 farmers applied for aid for pest control in permanent crops.

The farmers who need aid for pest control in permanent crops are exactly 2,267. This became clear after the final completion of the application process under the State Aid Scheme for compensating the costs of farmers related to the implementation of measures under the National Programme for the Control of Pests in Permanent Crops during the Winter Period for 2016. Financial reporting of the activities carried out by the farmers to the State Fund “Agriculture” will be possible until 15 April. The deadline for concluding the contracts and for the disbursement of the funds is 27 May 2016.

As “Plant Protection” has already announced, the aid for compensating the costs of farmers related to the implementation of measures under the National Programme for the Control of Pests in Permanent Crops during the Winter Period for 2016 amounts to BGN 3,000,000. The financial support is divided into two stages – in spring – after the end of the cold period until bud swelling, and in autumn – during the period of mass leaf fall. Producers will first receive BGN 2 million when applying for plant protection products that are used in the period after the end of the cold period until bud swelling. The remaining amount – BGN 1 million – will be allocated for products for accelerating the decomposition of leaves during the winter season, which are applied in autumn during the period of mass leaf fall.
