National Beekeeping Program 2014 – 2016

From October 26 to November 6, 2015, the State Fund Agriculture announces the acceptance of applications for support under the measures of the National Beekeeping Program

The financial aid for support during the application period amounts to the budget of each of the Program's measures and envisages aid under the following measures:

• Technical assistance for beekeepers and beekeepers' associations;

• Combating varroosis;

• Measures to support the performance of physico-chemical analysis of bee honey;

• Measures to support the renewal of beehives in the community;

• Cooperation with specialized bodies for the implementation of practice of applied research programs in the field of beekeeping and bee products;

Under measure A "Technical assistance for beekeepers and beekeepers' associations" the budget is 350,000 leva, under measure B "Combating varroosis" - 2,200,000 BGN, and under measure C "Measures to support the performance of physico-chemical analysis of bee honey" – 55,000 BGN. The total amount of support under measure D "Measures to support the renewal of beehives in the European Union" is 1,486,526 leva, of which 543,263 BGN is the budget for purchasing hives, 543,263 BGN – for maintaining and increasing bee colonies, 400,000 BGN – for purchasing queen bees. The budget under measure E "Cooperation with specialized bodies for the implementation of practice of applied research programs in the field of beekeeping and bee products" is 300,000 BGN, with 100,000 BGN envisaged for studying honeydew producers and their honeydew honey in the Rhodope region, and 200,000 BGN for establishing the causes of bee colony loss.
