According to Nikolay Kumenov, Chairman of the "Federation of Bulgarian Bees," the number of people wishing to engage in honey production is increasing. The initiative for creating and managing new apiaries has gained momentum in recent years, when it became clear that the small insects are disappearing and react acutely to various climatic and agricultural challenges.

The free school for beekeepers will begin its regular classes on November 6, 2015, in the town of Berkovitsa. There, the Forestry Vocational High School, with the assistance of the "Federation of Bulgarian Bees," will conduct training for future beekeepers every Friday. During the autumn-winter season, there will be lectures and theory, while in spring and summer, practical sessions will be carried out. There is no age limit, and there will also be guest lecturers. Good luck!

The Federation of Bulgarian Bees is a non-governmental, non-profit organization. It was founded on August 13, 2014, in the village of Arbanasi, Veliko Tarnovo Municipality, by 20 individuals. The organization is registered with the Sofia District Court. Its main goal is the export of honey and bee products and the mutual assistance of its members.
