Boxer Evo is the new herbicide from Syngenta, developed in response to one of the main challenges in cereal crops: weed infestation. The product combines two active substances, prosulfocarb and diflufenican, with strong synergy between them, which provides reliable and broad-spectrum weed control.

Applied pre-emergence or early post-emergence (autumn), Boxer Evo eliminates weed competition from the very beginning and gives wheat, barley, rye and triticale a clean start and good conditions for development.

Key advantages:

Highly effective early control of a broad spectrum of grass and broadleaf weeds

Excellent control of difficult grass weeds: ryegrass, wild oat, brome grass, foxtail, annual meadow grass (pre- and post-emergence)

Reliable efficacy against broadleaf weeds: field speedwell, wild pansy, cleavers, chamomile, cornflower and others

Two different modes of action for higher efficacy and sustainable control

Excellent partner for resistance management, including in difficult-to-control populations

Boxer Evo is the foundation on which growers can build.

Mode of action

Boxer Evo combines two active substances with two different modes of action:

Prosulfocarb inhibits cell division and the emergence and development of weeds. It is absorbed mainly by the root system of plants, with the main effect occurring upon uptake through the hypocotyl. It is taken up from the soil through the roots.

Diflufenican disrupts carotenoid synthesis, causing chlorophyll to degrade.

The combination of two different modes of action provides higher efficacy and is key to sustainable resistance management.

Integrated technology for managing resistant ryegrass forms

Control at two key moments in the development of cereal crops:

Autumn, Boxer Evo: 300 ml/ha, pre-emergence or post-emergence (1st-2nd leaf)

Spring, Avoxa: 160-180 ml/ha

Advantages of autumn treatment: elimination of germinating and emerging weeds in autumn, reduction of the weed seed bank in the soil, creation of conditions for a clean start and good development of crop plants.

Advantages of spring treatment: elimination of competition from emerging weeds, reduction of the negative effect of competition, preservation of yield potential per unit area.

Two different modes of action at two key moments mean higher efficacy and reduced weed infestation density.

Registered for: Wheat, Barley, Rye, Triticale

Application timing according to BBCH

Soil or early vegetative application at BBCH 00-09 (pre-emergence) or BBCH 10-13 (1st-2nd leaf), dose 300 ml/ha.

Proven efficacy in trial fields of Syngenta Bulgaria

Results from soil and early vegetative application in the 2024-2025 season in South Central Bulgaria (village of Otets Kirilovo) and Northeast Bulgaria (town of Popovo), with clearly expressed efficacy compared to the untreated control.

Application recommendations

Soil or early vegetative (1st-2nd leaf)
