From 15 September to 2 October 2026, agricultural holdings in the „Crop production“ and „Livestock breeding“ sectors may apply for the 2026 de minimis exceptional aid. The application deadline is set by Order of the Executive Director of the State Fund Agriculture, the Ministry of Agriculture and Food reports.

Aid applications will be accepted at the Municipal Agriculture Services (MAS) to the Regional Directorates “Agriculture“ of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food.

The budget approved by the Management Board of the State Fund Agriculture under de minimis amounts to a total of EUR 42 600 000.

The aid is provided to cover part of the production costs in 2026 of agricultural producers, in view of the difficulties they are facing.

Financial support will be received by livestock breeders raising cows and/or heifers, buffaloes, ewes and/or she-goats and bee colonies, as well as by agricultural holdings producing greenhouse production (tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, strawberries and raspberries), potatoes, cultivated mushrooms, oil-bearing rose and nuts (walnuts, almonds and hazelnuts).

The approved unit rates of aid for the „Crop production“ sector are as follows:

- greenhouse production (tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, strawberries and raspberries) in heated greenhouses – up to EUR 4 000/ha;

- greenhouse production (tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, strawberries and raspberries) in unheated greenhouses – up to EUR 2 000/ha;

- potatoes - up to EUR 700/ha;

- oil-bearing rose – up to EUR 500/ha;

- cultivated mushrooms – up to EUR 10/sq. m;

- nuts (walnuts, almonds and hazelnuts) – up to EUR 300/ha.

The approved unit rates of aid per animal and per bee colony are as follows: dairy cows included in breeding programmes (DC-BP) - up to EUR 70; buffaloes - up to EUR 70; cows of breeds threatened with extinction (C-ET) - up to EUR 60; dairy cows (DC) - up to EUR 60; cattle in mountain areas (C-mt) - up to EUR 60; beef cows included in breeding programmes (BC-BP) - up to EUR 50; beef cows (BC) - up to EUR 35; ewes and/or she-goats included in breeding programmes (SGC-BP) - up to EUR 11; ewes and/or she-goats of breeds threatened with extinction (SGC-ET) - up to EUR 11; ewes and/or she-goats in mountain areas (SGC-mt) - up to EUR 8; ewes and/or she-goats under the Transitional National Aid for ewes and/or she-goats coupled to production (TNA SGC 3) - up to EUR 8; bee colony - up to EUR 6.

The aid is provided in accordance with Regulation (EU) No 1408/2013, as amended by Regulation (EU) 2024/3118. Under the Regulation, the total amount of de minimis aid granted by a single Member State to a single undertaking may not exceed EUR 50 000 over a period of three years.

The guidelines for the implementation of de minimis aid for 2026 have been published on the website of the State Fund „Agriculture“ in the section „Support schemes and measures“, de minimis section, subsection Regulation 20214/3118.

At the beginning of July, the Minister of Agriculture and Food, Plamen Abrovski, confirmed that funds for the „Agriculture“ sector have been secured in the new budget. „We plan, provided sufficient financial resources are available, to support the sector through exceptional de minimis aid, in order to ensure liquidity of the holdings, given the difficult state of the sector," the Agriculture Minister said at the time.
