Kwelex® – powerful control against broadleaf weeds

For the third consecutive season, Quelex® from Corteva Agriscience™ is proving to be the reliable solution for broadleaf weed control in cereal crops. Each year, more and more farmers choose Quelex® for its high efficacy, excellent selectivity, and stability under various weather conditions.

During the recent campaigns, marked by variable weather and frequent stress situations for the crops, Quelex® showed consistent results – even against overgrown weeds, sharp temperature fluctuations, and droughts.

The herbicide provides complete control of broadleaf weeds, including those that have developed resistance to traditional herbicides. Among them are common poppy (Papaver rhoeas), red dead-nettle (Lamium purpureum), field larkspur (Delphinium consolida), and cleavers (Galium aparine) – some of the most common and economically significant weeds in cereal crops.

The unique active ingredient Arylex™ Active, part of the new chemical group arylpicolinates, provides a different mode of action, thanks to which Quelex® effectively controls even resistant species.

The product can be applied both in autumn and spring, at a rate of 5 g/da, guaranteeing full effect at temperatures from +5°C to +27°C. Treatment can be carried out from the first leaf to the flag leaf – a flexibility that allows farmers to react according to the real field situation.

The first signs of action are observed just a few hours after application, when the weeds begin to show epinastic distortions and stop their growth. Complete kill occurs within 2 to 4 weeks, during which time they cease to be competitive with the crop.

To achieve maximum effect under high weed pressure, the addition of the adjuvant Vivol™ is recommended, which ensures better coverage and penetration of the active ingredient.
