The expected yield forecasts for grapes this year are around 250 thousand tons, which roughly equals the abundant harvest of 2013. "Nature has been favorable to Bulgarian viticulture and winemaking this year. At present, the grape harvest is in exceptionally good condition across the entire country.", according to the words of Krasimir Koev, Director of the Executive Agency on Vineyards and Wine. In the "12+3" program on Bulgarian National Radio, Koev admitted that 2014 was very weak for all grape producers, with only 110,000 tons harvested and processed.

The prices for the current harvest are still being discussed and have not been committed to with specific offers from bulk buyers and purchasers. According to Koev, they depend entirely on the quality of the produce. Currently, the hits on the Bulgarian market are the white varieties, such as Muscat, which maintain relatively high prices.

For the sixth consecutive year, the grape harvesting campaign will involve the joint participation of the gendarmerie at all neurological points in the country, where there has always been tension between bulk buyers and local producers.
