What is the importance of the microelement copper for plants?

Copper is a microelement which, in the form of various organic and inorganic compounds, participates in the metabolism of the plant organism.

Copper is part of important oxidative enzymes – polyphenol oxidase, ascorbic acid, etc., and thus participates in the redox processes in plants.

Copper helps bind free oxygen radicals, thereby rendering them harmless and influencing nitrogen metabolism. Its role in photosynthesis and respiration is significant. It helps form lignin in cell walls, which maintains plant strength. Its role in the formation of viable pollen and seeds is particularly important. It increases the resistance of plants to fungal diseases and stress factors.

Plants absorb copper more intensively in the early stages of their development and especially during periods of vigorous growth.

The degree of copper absorption by the roots mainly depends on the quantity and form of copper compounds in the soil and/or nutrient solution – with a high content of assimilable copper, its absorption is more intensive.

Glucocat from the Spanish leader in biostimulant production Atlantica Agricola, is a specially formulated complex water-soluble formula, a copper deficiency corrector for various crops

It contains copper bound to organic molecules, most often heptagluconic acid. This improves its action and mobility and facilitates easy penetration through the leaves and root system.

Plants "fed" with Glucocat

Glucocat maintains healthy copper levels in plant sap!

Once inside the plant, it is easily released, binds to organ-forming molecules, and plays an enzymatic role in metabolism. In addition to correcting copper deficiency, it is also indicated for preventing physiopathologies caused by unfavorable bioclimatic conditions. It can be applied foliarly or dissolved in irrigation water.
