At the beginning of May as well, the rich seasonal collection of spring-flowering species will delight visitors to the University Botanical Garden in Balchik.
This year the floral diversity includes over 45,000 bulbs from a total of 63 cultivars of garden and botanical tulips. The new cultivars for the garden are 27 in number from all tulip groups.

Grape hyacinth, Muscari (Muscari armeniacum), is a spring ornamental plant classified in the family Asparagaceae. It combines exceptionally well with tulips and daffodils in garden plantings.
The multicoloured tulips are arranged in floral compositions together with other spring flowers such as hyacinth, daffodil and grape hyacinth. Alongside the bulbous plants, other spring-flowering species from the genera Viola, Myosotis, Bellis and Dianthus are also presented.

Tulipa ‘Carnaval de Nice’
The new tulip cultivars this year include Tulipa ‘Carnaval de Nice’, a representative of the Double Late Tulips class, whose flowers combine white with bright pink and red stripes. This cultivar flowers in the flower parterre of the Nursery Garden.

Tulipa ‘Parrot Prince’
Tulipa ‘Parrot Prince’ from the Parrot Tulips class can be seen in the “Carnation” Garden, while Tulipa ‘La Courtine’, a representative of the Triumph class, which blooms with a multicoloured and delicate cup-shaped flower, is located in the “Divine Garden”.

The collection is presented with the greatest diversity in the flower parterres of the “Nursery” and “Divine Garden”, with flowering expected to continue until the end of April.
The University Botanical Garden in Balchik is open to visitors every day from 08:30 to 19:00.
