Suitable pruning and cultivation technologies for pome and stone fruit orchards in mountainous areas and on sloping terrains

The main principles of pruning operations for pome and stone fruit orchards, as well as preventive measures against late spring frosts, will be presented to farmers by Prof. Dimitar Sotirov from the Institute of Agriculture – Kyustendil on 24 April 2025 (Thursday).
The event will take place at 11:00 a.m. in the land of the village of Lŭzhnitsa, Gotse Delchev Municipality, in the orchard of the agricultural producer Mustafa Boshnak.
The demonstration is organised by the Territorial District Office (TDO) - Blagoevgrad of the National Agricultural Advisory Service (NAAS) and the Institute of Agriculture - Kyustendil at the Agricultural Academy.
During the event, farmers will also learn more about the implementation of approved projects under the Rural Development Programme (RDP) 2014-2020 and the activities of NAAS under sub-measure 2.1.2 "Advisory services for small agricultural holdings" of Measure 2 of the RDP 2014-2020, the opportunities for support under interventions for young and small farmers from the Strategic Plan for the Development of Agriculture and Rural Areas 2023-2027, as well as the ways of supporting farmers under the interventions of the Strategic Plan for the Development of Agriculture and Rural Areas (SPDARA) 2023-2027.
