129 years of plant protection activities in Bulgaria

Traditionally, on 16 January the Day of the Plant Protection Specialist is celebrated, a history filled with challenges and difficulties, whose main mission remains the preservation of the diversity of plant species. Plant protection is a key factor for the development of modern and sustainable agriculture, competitive in the dynamic environment of continuous economic, climatic and social changes.

Under the motto „Protect plants – preserve life“, on 16 January 2025 in Auditorium Seven of the Faculty of Plant Protection and Agroecology, Agricultural University – Plovdiv, the professional holiday of the plant protection specialist and 129 years of plant protection activities in Bulgaria will be celebrated.

The organizer of the event is the Bulgarian Food Safety Agency at the Ministry of Agriculture and Food.
