The National Agricultural Advisory Service (NAAS), together with the Ministry of Agriculture and Food (MAF), is organizing an information campaign on organic production in the country on the topic “Organic farming – opportunities for support to organic producers. Opportunities for financial support under the CAP Strategic Plan 2023–2027.”
The information campaign will be held at regional and municipal level, with 9 events to be organized at regional level and 28 events at municipal level. The lecturers at the regional seminars will be experts from NAAS and MAF, and at municipal level – only experts from NAAS.
Within the framework of the campaign, on 17.10 at the Agricultural University – Plovdiv, an event on organic production was held on the topic: “Organic farming – opportunities for support to organic producers. Opportunities for financial support under the CAP Strategic Plan 2023–2027.” The Deputy Minister of Agriculture Lozana Vasileva shared that currently 145,000 hectares of agricultural land are under the control system for organic farming. “It is one of the main priorities of the MAF and in the Strategic Plan and has been developing with a constant positive trend in recent years,” she also said at the official opening of the event.

During the information meetings, participants will be introduced to the essence and main principles of organic farming, the applicable regulatory framework, the rules for organic production, the control systems, as well as the conditions for the implementation of the interventions under the Strategic Plan for the Development of Agriculture and Rural Areas for the period 2023–2027 (CAP Strategic Plan 2023–2027): “Organic crop production”, “Organic beekeeping” and “Eco-scheme for organic farming (farm animals)”.
In the second part of the meeting, participants will also be presented with the opportunities for support to farmers under the interventions of the CAP Strategic Plan 2023–2027, for which applications are expected to be received by the end of 2024, with an emphasis on supporting their activities related to organic farming.
During the meetings, the lecturers will answer questions in the field of organic farming.
