The Agricultural Academy celebrates the Day of Agricultural Science

The team of "Plant Protection" wishes you good health, creative energy and a dignified presence in the international research arena! We express our deep gratitude to all scientists and researchers who are dedicated to the cause of Bulgarian agriculture!

On 25 October, the institutes of the Agricultural Academy traditionally celebrate Agricultural Science Day with the exhibition „Gifts of Nature”, the AA reports.

According to the programme, the opening of the celebration will begin at 11:00 with the welcoming of the official guests. A congratulatory address to the scientists and those working in the field of agricultural science will be delivered by the President of the Agricultural Academy, Prof. Dr. Violeta Bozhanova. During the official part, the achievements, vision and activities of the Agricultural Academy will be presented by the Vice President of the AA, Prof. Dr. Iliana Nacheva.

The event will be complemented by congratulatory addresses for the holiday from representatives of institutions and attending guests. Newly habilitated scientists will also be presented, who will be awarded certificates of the Academy.

After the closing of the official part, all scientists and guests will be able to visit the exhibition „Gifts of Nature“, presented by the units of the Agricultural Academy, where they will find a variety of dairy and honey products, fruit and vegetables, baked goods, dishes, sweet treats, wine, rakia and juices.

A beautiful addition are the flowers from the Institute of Ornamental and Medicinal Plants – Sofia, which everyone can enjoy and from which they can take planting material.

The Agricultural Academy is part of the country’s research environment and innovation system, with a leading role in the field of agricultural science. The mission of the AA is related to addressing important societal challenges such as food security, climate change, sustainable use of natural resources and environmental protection, development of rural areas, the bioeconomy and the blue economy. For Bulgaria, the role of agricultural science as a prerequisite for the stable development of agriculture is indisputable. In the scientists and teams of agricultural science, the state must always recognise potential like-minded partners.
