During most days of the first ten-day period of September, agrometeorological conditions will be determined by temperatures above the climatic norms, which will accelerate the completion of the final development stages of late field crops. In late maize hybrids, the wax maturity and full maturity stages will be observed. During the first half of the period, in the eastern regions a higher probability of precipitation is forecast, as well as an improvement of soil moisture in the upper layers and of the conditions for carrying out pre-sowing tillage. In the remaining part of the country’s field areas, the conditions will allow the release of land from the ripe sunflower and maize crops.
During the second ten-day period of the month, a change in agrometeorological conditions is expected. For most days of the period, a relative decrease in temperatures is forecast, along with conditions for precipitation in more places in the field regions. The expected precipitation, following the intensified drought at the end of the summer, will improve the condition of the upper soil layers and the conditions for higher-quality pre-sowing tillage and sowing of winter oilseed rape. The optimal agrotechnical time frame for sowing oilseed rape is until the end of the second ten-day period of September.
The forecast precipitation during the second and the first half of the third ten-day period will increase the risk of development of fungal pathogens in the ripening fruit and vegetable production: grey mould on grapes, late brown rot on the fruits of late fruit tree varieties, downy mildews on vegetable crops.

Cotton bollworm
In September, for vegetable crops from late field production, plant protection spraying against the caterpillars of the third generation of the cotton bollworm should not be underestimated, as they cause damage and deteriorate the quality of the vegetable yield.
During the second half of the third ten-day period, dry weather and favourable conditions are expected for harvesting the ripe grape crop.
In September, critical minimum temperatures are not forecast, and the conditions will allow the formation of additional production from late vegetable crops.
