Field Day in the village of Popgrigorovo

For the third consecutive year, the agricultural exhibition “Field Day” will be held in Dobrich Region from 23 to 25 July. The event is organized by the Dobrudzha Union of Grain Producers and aims to bring together in one place farmers, producers of seeds, fertilizers and agricultural machinery. The host of this year’s “Field Day” is the farm of Nedyalko Statev, who cultivates about 8,000 decares of land in the area of the village of Popgrigorovo.

The July edition of “Field Days” is one of the largest regional agricultural events, which gathers farmers from across the country after the end of the wheat harvest and provides an opportunity to discuss important topics in agriculture and to present new technologies and products. The focus of the demo platform will be on spring crops – sunflower and maize.

The event is held with the participation of experts and partners from the European Digital Innovation Hub AgroHub.BG, and on the second day the Applied Research and Communications Fund will present to farmers the services provided by the agricultural hub. Prof. Teodora Georgieva, Senior Expert at the Applied Research and Communications Fund, will present the topics: “AgroHub.BG works for you“, “Entrepreneurship Programme“ and “Master’s Programme of Sofia University ‘St. Kliment Ohridski’ in support of agribusiness“.

The Vocational High School of Agricultural Management in Dobrich will also take part in the organization of “Field Day“. The aim is for the students of the specialized high school to become closely acquainted with the different types of agricultural machinery, to meet the producers of seeds and plant protection products, and also to remember that the field can be a place for fun.

Skilled operation of a small orchard tractor and a maize maze for young and old will alternate with relay games, tug of war and baking bread according to an old Bulgarian recipe. Many prizes and surprises await the visitors of the festival.
