Until mid-June, applications are open for three interventions in the wine sector

Until June 15, 2024, grape producers can submit applications for funding under the „Crop Insurance“ intervention from the Strategic Plan for the Development of Agriculture and Rural Areas in the Republic of Bulgaria 2023-2027.

Producers growing wine grape varieties – natural or legal persons, as well as groups and organizations of natural or legal persons – can apply for support. They must be registered under Ordinance No. 3 of 1999.

Before submitting documents to the State Fund Agriculture, vine growers must have already insured their harvest with an insurance company of their choice.

Insurance risks for natural disasters and adverse climatic conditions that have destroyed over 30% of the average yield on the farm are eligible for funding. Losses are calculated based on the previous three-year period or the average quantity for three years, considering the previous five-year period, excluding the highest and lowest values.

The supported insurance risks include adverse climatic conditions (frost, storm, hail, icing, heavy or torrential rain, severe drought), as well as losses caused by pest infestations.

The granted financial aid can be up to 80% of the value of the insurance premiums. 3  973.43 BGN  is the maximum eligible amount of insurance compensation per unit area on which the insurance premium is calculated, eligible for support in the financial year 2024.

Applications are submitted electronically through the applicant's individual profile or by a person authorized by them in the Electronic Services System (ESS).

The second call for applications under the interventions „Investments in the Wine Sector“ and „Investments in Ecological Facilities is open from June 03  to 16, 2024.

Applications are accepted in accordance with Art. 5, par. 2 of Ordinance No. 14 of 11.09.2023 on the terms and procedure for providing financial assistance under the interventions in the wine sector, included in the Strategic Plan for the Development of Agriculture and Rural Areas for the period 2023 – 2027.

By Order No. RD09-1230/01.12.2023 of the Minister of Agriculture and Food, the budgets for the two interventions, financed by the  European Agricultural Guarantee Fund (EAGF) for the period 2024 – 2026, have been determined. 

BGN 16,269,174.59 is the total budget for the „Investments in the Wine Sector“ intervention, and BGN 5,145,600.00 is the total budget for the „Investments in Ecological Facilities“ intervention.

We remind you that for the first time, investments in ecological facilities are eligible in the wine sector.

Applicants can submit documents for financial support only through the Electronic Services System (ESS) of the State Fund „Agriculture“ with a qualified electronic signature (QES).
