In early June – with a favorable combination of warmth and moisture, the vegetation of spring crops will proceed.

During the first week of June, the development of agricultural crops will proceed at an accelerated pace under above-normal thermal conditions and with very good soil moisture reserves - due to the significant rainfall in May, which exceeded the monthly norms in most of the country, with the exception of some areas in the extreme northeastern and southwestern regions.

During the period, grain filling will occur in winter cereals in the high fields. In the field regions, wheat will undergo the following phases: milky, transition to waxy, and waxy maturity for crops in the southeastern regions. For barley in the southern regions, waxy maturity will predominate.

At the beginning of June, with a favorable combination of heat and moisture, the vegetation of spring crops will proceed. Leaf formation will be observed in corn and sunflower. For  sunflower crops sown within the agrotechnical period (Plovdiv, Haskovo, Lyubimets), inflorescence formation will occur.

The expected rainfall during the  period will maintain suitable conditions for the development of fungal diseases: downy mildew on vegetable crops; late brown rot, scab and powdery mildew on fruit trees; downy mildew and oidium on vines, which requires timely plant protection after the cessation of rainfall.

An increased probability of hailstorms and a risk of lodging of crops and damage to the standing grain harvest are forecast for the last days of the period.
