DiVes Winery – Recognition from the most prestigious wine events in Bulgaria

4 award-winning wines – 2 gold medals from Vinaria, 2 wines in DiVino TOP 50 and winner in the Best Dessert Wine category

We are pleased to share that the winery DiVes Estate has once again gained recognition in the Bulgarian wine world! Our wines have won not only medals, but also top positions at the most significant wine events in Bulgaria.

Gold Medals from Vinaria in Plovdiv

Two of our wines, Merlot Barrique 2020 Special Selection and Sauvignon Blanc 2022 Aged in Oak Barrels, were awarded gold medals in the prestigious Vinaria competition in Plovdiv. This competition, with its long-standing tradition, is an extremely important event for wine producers and wine enthusiasts, and we are proud that our wines were distinguished by an expert jury and awarded personally by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hristo Spasov, Vice-Rector of the University of Food Technologies, on 21 February this year in Plovdiv.

DiVino TOP 50 – 2 Award-Winning Wines for 2023 + Category Winner

Furthermore, in the ranking DiVino TOP 50 – the 50 best wines for 2023, our wines occupied high positions. Among them are Cabernet Sauvignon & Merlot Barrique 2019 Grand Reserve, winner of a silver medal from MUNDUS VINI 2023 and a gold medal from Vinaria 2023, and Sweet Muscat, which were recognised as part of the best wines in Bulgaria during the ceremony on 24 February at Toplocentrala, Sofia. The award was presented by Krasimira Kodukova, founder of “Wine tour maker” with over 10 years of experience in the field of wine tourism. The sweet dessert wine deservedly became the winner in the category for Best Dessert Wine for 2023, and in the past year it also received a Gold medal from Vinaria 2023.

The successes of the winery have extended beyond the borders of Bulgaria since the establishment of the cellar and its first vintages, and in 2023 the winery was distinguished with a total of 9 medals:

• 1 gold and 2 silver medals from MUNDUS VINI;
• 1 silver medal from the Decanter World Wine Awards;
• 2 gold medals from the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles;
• 1 silver medal from the Concours Mondial du Sauvignon;
• 2 gold medals from Vinaria.

The winery is open for visits all year round, but the summer season on the Black Sea coast is the perfect time to discover everything that DiVes Winery offers, namely three incredible tours that can turn your holiday into a true delight.

Historical Tour

The winery is located on the historic Simeonova Mogila hill, associated with one of the most epic battles in our history: the Battle of the Achelous River of 20 August 917.

Tsar Simeon the Great led the battle precisely from the place where the winery is now located, which is why the area bears the name “Simeonova Mogila”. Guided by an experienced guide, visitors become acquainted with the history of the battle and the monument “The Eye of the Victor”.

Lavender Aroma Tasting

The winery offers a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in the world of 5 varieties of high-quality Bulgarian lavender and, through a special technique, to enjoy the pure and delicate aromas that each separate variety carries. This attraction undoubtedly excites the senses of our guests during the months of June, July and early August and enriches their knowledge of the plant and its origin. The incredible photos of the lavender terraces against the backdrop of the sea complete the experience.

Wine Tour – Wine Tasting

For nearly 10 years, the winery has been developing its Wine and Historical Tour and has established itself as a preferred destination for wine visits in the region of Nesebar and Sunny Beach. This success is due to the exceptional medal-winning wines, which stand out with their rich taste and quality, and to the hospitality of the DiVes Winery team, which presents the main practices in wine production. During the tour, visitors learn how to evaluate wine in combination with selected foods, following the Food&Wine Pairing concept.

The winery proudly announces that it has its own vineyards, where 5 different wine grape varieties are carefully cultivated: Muscat, Sauvignon Blanc, Pamid, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. The winery is equipped with the most modern bottling line in an anaerobic environment and technologies that support the work of the experienced team of oenologists and winery technicians. The team demonstrates 100% commitment, taking care of every detail in order to create exceptional wines with great love.

For the period May – September, tastings are offered every day in 4 languages: Bulgarian, English, German and Russian. During the period October – April, the winery offers tastings and tours within the team’s working hours – from Monday to Friday until 4 p.m. in Bulgarian and English. Tastings are carried out with a prior reservation.
