VERBEN is a two-component, dual-system fungicide for the control of all major economically important fungal diseases in cereal crops. Its composition includes the active substances PROTHIOCONAZOLE and PROQUINAZID, which belong to two different chemical groups and are characterized by different modes and mechanisms of action. This is the reason for their mutual complementarity and excellent synergism, which makes the product unique in its mode of action and contributes to uncompromising control of various pathogens, even when visible symptoms of the disease are already present.

PROTHIOCONAZOLE is an active substance from the group of triazoles – subclass triazoles. One of the most powerful and effective molecules in this group. It has fully systemic action, thanks to which the products containing it are distinguished by both very good preventive and excellent curative effect. It is one of the triazoles with the best curative effect and, accordingly, a longer protection period.

Owing to its excellent mobility through the xylem and phloem of plant tissues, it provides fungicidal protection even in the young growth of the treated plants.

VERBEN has the ability to move translaminarily, passing through the cross section of the leaves and thus protecting them also from the underside, where spray solution hardly reaches.

PROTHIOCONAZOLE is a highly broad-spectrum active substance with fungicidal action.

In wheat it is effective against: rust species, septoria species, tan spot (Drechslera species), powdery mildew, snow mould, fusarium diseases in the root and on the ears, glume blotch.

In barley it is characterized by control of: net blotch, leaf scald (rhynchosporium), leaf rust, snow mould, fusarium diseases.

PROQUINAZID belongs to the group of QUINOLINES. It has local-systemic action and also moves translaminarily in the plants, providing very good preventive and curative effect. In addition to these properties, another advantage is its vapour phase, through which this active substance surpasses many of the others in this segment. It is reactivated after every rainfall and in this way protects the untreated parts of the plants, as well as the young growth. PROQUINAZID has one more unique quality, namely that it FURTHER ENHANCES THE IMMUNE RESISTANCE OF PLANTS through its physiological action, even against already established infection.

In addition to the fact that the active substances in VERBEN are highly effective, they are also present in very high concentration. VERBEN is the fungicide that delivers the highest amount of active substance per decare in terms of PROTHIOCONAZOLE, calculated on the basis of the registered and recommended rates. It is a fact that at the lowest rate of 60 ml, 12 g a.s./da are applied, a quantity which, in the high class of competing fungicides, is delivered at medium and high rates. This is also the reason why VERBEN is considered one of the most reliable and secure products in terms of price – quality ratio.

synergism

As a result of the excellent interaction between the active substances, VERBEN is an excellent solution against all economically important diseases in wheat and barley, since thanks to this synergism the level of efficacy against the different types of pathogens is significantly increased.

VERBEN is the most effective fungicidal solution in the control of powdery mildew, both in the early stages of disease development and when symptoms are already visible.

VERBEN is the fungicide with the strongest effect against fusarium diseases – various root rots and fusarium on the ear. Its efficacy against these pathogens reaches approximately 80%, which makes it suitable for fields where there are preconditions for their development and, respectively, infestation. For example – maize as a previous crop and soils that predispose to root asphyxia. To achieve this level of efficacy, application is required late in the autumn or early in the spring, together with the herbicide or around that timing.

In barley, VERBEN is the benchmark for control of the most harmful diseases, namely net blotch and leaf scald (rhynchosporium). Applied in spring, after the crop emerges from winter dormancy, at a rate of 70 – 75 ml, it provides excellent control of these pathogens and very often, under optimal environmental conditions, a repeat fungicide treatment is not necessary.

VERBEN is offered in an improved, special formulation that includes emulsifiers, stimulants, enhancers and adjuvants, which contribute to faster uptake of the active substances and better translocation to the individual parts of the treated plants, making it more effective even than tank-mixing the same active substances separately.
